Blomstermåla

A fictional documentary about the legendary Folkets Hus (Swedish: Community House) in Blomstermåla. In the 1970s, it was famous for its vibrant parties — even ABBA performed there. Today, however, it is at risk of being sold and torn down because it no longer meets new fire regulations.

Yet it is far from dead: a strong local community is fighting, event by event, to keep their house alive. In our 20-minute film and the accompanying screening at Folkets Hus, we were able to bring some of the building’s magic back to the stage — featuring local musicians, performing artists, and interviews with residents who grew up with the house.
